Emley Show is back for 2023! After such a successful show in 2022 we can’t wait for Saturday 5th August so we can do it all again this year.

The Hampshire family are kindly hosting the show at Factory Farm, right under the mast.
The show pulls in over 7000 visitors from Huddersfield, Wakefield, Leeds, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and even further afield. All keen to see a glimpse into the world of farming, agriculture and country persuits.

Through the gates visitors, exhibitors and sponsors are spoilt for choice with a wide range of activities on offer, from agricultural events, country crafts, family entertainment and competitions. It really is a day for all!

Message from the President

Welcome to Emley Show 2023 on 5 August at Factory Farm right under the iconic Emley Mast– a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Following the hugely successful show last year, the dedicated team of volunteers have been working tirelessly to make sure that this year’s show is even bigger and better. Believe it or not, preparations for the 2023 show started the day after the 2022 show ended!

With landscape and views from the Emley Showground to match any show in the country, this year’s show will be returning to Factory Farm…..and with Emley Mast, one of the tallest structures in the country to guide you to the showground, you will not need to fiddle with your sat-nav to find us.

So what can you expect from Emley Show 2023? First and foremost, we are an agricultural show and so there will be farmers from near and far showing their best cattle and sheep, goats and birds. This is an amazing opportunity for the Farming community to come together in a sociable environment and to interact with those who don’t come into contact with farm animals every day. For families, it is a chance to learn and to reconnect with where your weekly supermarket basket originates.

For the petrolheads, there are tractors (both vintage and modern) and machinery, equipment and a number of car dealerships displaying their wears. New for 2023, we are also delighted to introduce a vintage vehicle display. With some fantastic vehicles from yesteryear on, we hope that this will be a new annual feature.

The fun-dog-show will be taking place again this year so bring your dog, enter them in one of the classes and let them enjoy the fun of the day.

There will be crafts and cookery, horticulture and beekeeping.

The children’s tent will be running a themed event this year and is looking forward to captivating the attention of younger family members.

For the older members of the family, there will be the draw of a new Bar featuring indoor and outdoor bar space so you have the opportunity to enjoy a pint of Yorkshire’s finest in the sunshine……..or shelter from the weather as appropriate.

For the shopaholic, head to Market Street where there’s everything from handmade jewellery, artisan Gin and freshly made soaps to country wear, garden furniture and homeware.

When you have exhausted yourself shopping, you can browse the food outlets (which this year focus on local artisan producers and suppliers) and find a seat in the Grandstand to enjoy the events in the main ring or head over to the Equestrian rings to watch some of Yorkshires finest horses and riders compete for coveted silverware…..or if you still have energy, head to the funfair where the thrills of the fairground rides will not disappoint.

By 5 pm, with weary legs and a head full of memories, Emley show visitors normally head for home but this year, we are introducing “The Emley Stomp” – an evening event in one of the onsite marquees with live music, a bar and hog roast. The Emley Stomp will be quite a show closer so you can eat, drink and be merry while the sun sets against the backdrop of one of the best views in Yorkshire.
