Whether you’re entering for the first time or have been part of the show for years, it’s a relaxed and rewarding part of Emley Show — and always worth a visit.
The Cookery, Craft & Photography section brings together a wide range of classes for all ages and abilities.
Everything on display is made or created by local exhibitors, and entries are judged on the day.
For 2026, Yorkshire Day is being celebrated across the show — with several classes reflecting that theme.
You’ll also find displays and demonstrations within the marquee from local groups, adding even more to see and explore.

How To Enter
Entry is free for all classes.
You can enter in advance or on the day:
Advance entry
- Opens: 1st June 2026
- Closes: 20th July 2026
- Submit by post (details on entry form)
On the day
- Entries accepted from 8:00am – 9:50am
- Judging begins at 10:00am
Bringing a completed entry form with you will help speed things up on the day.
Judging
Cookery entries are judged on:
- Texture
- Taste
- Overall appearance
Scores across these areas determine placing.
Key Information
- All entries must be your own work
- No exhibits can be removed before 4:00pm
- Any uncollected items remain at owner’s risk after the show
