Cage Birds

The Caged Birds section is a well-established part of Emley Show, run in partnership with Wakefield Caged Birds Society.

It brings together exhibitors from across the region for a friendly and well-supported competition, with a wide range of classes covering different breeds and experience levels. Whether you’re a regular exhibitor or entering for the first time, it’s a straightforward and welcoming section to take part in.

How To Enter

Entries are taken on the day, so there’s no need to pre-book.

Simply arrive within the entry window, follow steward guidance, and your birds will be entered into the relevant classes.

Key Information

  • Entries take between 8:00am – 11:00am on Show Day
  • Entry fee is 30p per entry
  • Rosettes presented to all section winners
  • All Birds to be in clean cages with clean water
  • All Birds must comply with the 1981 Act
  • All vehicles must be removed from the showground by 9:00am
  • Dogs are allowed on the showground but are not permitted in tents or animal area
